It was later elevated to a National Polytechnic in 2023, through the Legal Order number 10, it was established as a body corporate with set objects and functions.
TSNP owes its existence to a supportive local community which has supported and continues to support the institute over the years. The institute has witnessed a rapid growth in its learners’ numbers in the recent years; attributed particularly to the decision by the Higher Education Loans Board (HELB) to finance the education of students in TVET institutions, together with bursaries targeting needy students provided by the Constituency Development Funds (CDF) countrywide and the Ministry of Education. The Shamberere National Polytechnic has tremendously grown in number of courses and enrolment. It offers Levels 4, 5, 6 and 7 (equivalent of Artisan, Certificate, Diploma and Higher Diploma) in various disciplines. It produces middle level human resource with highly sought skills in the labour market. The graduates contribute enormously to international, regional and national development agenda.
